Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival in Sorong – Transfer to Malagufuk
Arrive in Sorong, meet with the guide.
Transfer by car to Malagufuk village (about 3 hours).
Afternoon birding around the village.
Possible species: Twelve-wired Bird-of-Paradise, Trumpet Manucode, Rufous-bellied Kookaburra.

Day 2–3: Birding in Malagufuk
Early morning birding in lowland rainforest.
Target species: King Bird-of-Paradise, Magnificent Riflebird, Black Lory, Papuan Pitta, Hooded Pitta, and various parrots.
Night walk for nocturnal birds such as Marbled Frogmouth and Papuan Nightjar.

Day 4: Travel to Waigeo 
Return to Sorong and take a ferry to Waigeo (Waisai).
Afternoon birding in Saporkren village.
Target species: Red Bird-of-Paradise, Brown-headed Crow, Raja Ampat Pitohui.

Day 5: Wilson’s Bird-of-Paradise 
Early morning hike to see Wilson’s Bird-of-Paradise.
Other highlights: Palm Cockatoo, Common Paradise Kingfisher, Frilled Monarch.
Afternoon visit to another birding hotspot for Waigeo’s unique species.

Day 6: Exploring Additional Birding Sites on Waigeo
Optional boat trip for coastal birding.
Possible species: Great-billed Parrot, Beach Kingfisher, Spice Imperial Pigeon.
Visit forests for more passerines and parrots.

Day 7: Return to Sorong – End of Tour
Morning birding around Waisai before taking the ferry back to Sorong.
Transfer to the hotel or airport for departure.
